LET'S TELL Your story
Firstly, congrats! It would give me an immense amount of joy to get to know you and tell your story as accurately and beautifully as I can. As your wedding celebrant, I want to hear all about your lives apart and together, so that I can write a ceremony that gets to the heart of how it feels to be you, to be partners, and to be in love.
How did you make it to the spot you're both standing in, who helped you along the way and what does this day mean to you? These are the questions we'll answer to write a ceremony that makes you feel seen. In the last few years it's become clear how important it is to celebrate occasions together, in whatever way is most meaningful to you. It would be an honour to help you do this by creating a ceremony that I hope will stay with you forever.
Collaborating with me, you will both get to shape every aspect of your ceremony to your own tastes and personalities. It can be as serious or as silly as you like; noisy and jubilant or serene and thoughtful. It can include all the highlights of your story (and the worst bits too if you want!)
It takes a village to get a couple aisle-ready. Your friends and family have supported you both unequivocally for years. They kept you hopeful in your search for each other, they calmed your nerves for the first date, and they've celebrated with you as a couple countless times. I'd love to chat to your loved ones to help write the ceremony, and I'll work with you to find roles for anyone who is important to you, whether that's with readings, performances or symbolic acts.
how it works
I can write and perform your wedding ceremony for the all-inclusive price of £600. This includes:
-
A big chat (in person if possible, and maybe over a coffee or a pint!) of at least an hour around 3 months before the big day, where I’ll ask you both a whole load of questions to form the ceremony script
-
Full design & creation of your ceremony, in close collaboration with both of you
-
Unlimited revisions of the script based on your feedback
-
Advice & guidance on all aspects of your ceremony from the moment you book eg. figuring out a tricky venue layout or finding a ceremony role for an important person
-
Support selecting your readings, music, any symbolic acts, and writing your vows, if desired
-
A wedding rehearsal at an agreed location, if you'd like to have one
-
Delivery of the ceremony on the day
-
A presentation copy of the script, which you'll receive after the wedding
-
My travel is included in the fee above if your ceremony is:
-
Within the Greater London area
-
Within 20 miles of Chester
-
-
Something silly that I think is important - I'll ask about your ceremony location/colour scheme to decide what I wear. I always want to make sure my outfit doesn’t clash with the bridesmaids', or that your pictures aren't ruined because I'm wearing a colour you hate! I rent an outfit for each wedding to reduce waste.

FAQs
Are you accredited/trained?
Yes, I'm accredited by Humanists UK in writing & performing wedding ceremonies. I trained in 2022, and Humanists UK regularly observe all their celebrants to ensure standards are high. You can see my official profile on the Humanists UK website here.
Will the ceremony be legally binding?
Currently in England and Wales celebrant wedding ceremonies are not recognised as legal marriages. Humanists UK are working hard to change that, but right now you will need to have a legal ceremony as well as the ceremony we'll put together. Couples usually do this a few weeks or days earlier.
What does it mean that the ceremony is 'non-religious'?
Humanist ceremonies are non-religious, so I won't include any religious readings or elements of worship. However, non-religious does not mean anti-religious. Humanist ceremonies are a place where everyone is welcome and celebrated. This means we can include cultural rituals (like Jewish glass smashing) and symbolic gestures (like ring warming) to reflect you as a couple. You can find out more about Humanism here.
I'd actually like my friend/family member to perform our ceremony, can you help with that instead?
Absolutely - take a look at this page to find out more.
